The bacteria species found in the De Simone formulation in Visbiome are variable pH resistant as their metabolic processes produce lactic acid, which allows them to survive in much lower pH like that of the human stomach. Studies show that an enteric coating (a coating used to protect ingested capsules from stomach acid) is unnecessary, as acidic environments don’t affect the potency of Visbiome.
